{January 16, 2007}   Happy New Year

I have this habit of dropping off the radar… for friends and family. Mostly, I keep my head above water for work. Mostly, but it doesn’t feel like it.

Many of you will note that I haven’t been blogging lately. Things I haven’t covered: Christmas, my Dad’s anniversary, the new year, changes at work, and how utterly cute Dylan is.

I made new year’s resolutions. I won’t keep them, I never do. I always try.

I’ve started going out with friends. Hopefully, that will continue.

My car is acting up, so the saving money part is getting off to a rough start.

Let’s not even discuss the “d” work… diet… {{shudder}}. Why do I even think the word?…. Oh, yeah, in case I need back surgery… because my doctor and my physical therapist told me that I need to lose weight… because I’ve gained quite a bit of weight since my Dad passed away… etc., etc., etc.

The good news is that I’ve been able to cut back on wearing the wrist braces… Oh, yeah! I have a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome and have been wearing wrist braces for months now. It’s slowed me down at work and made me very uncomfortable. I’m glad that I’m well enough that I don’t have to wear the braces all the time.

The bad news is that I’m going to continue to be in some discomfort. The braces and the medicine helps a lot, but the discomfort is going to continue. It’s kind of like my back pain.

And some time this year I want to finally get to my family history project. Ever since my grandfather passed away a few years ago, and especially since my Dad died, I’ve been thinking that I need to create a family history while I still have sources for oral accounts. I’m just procrastinating.

Anyway, Happy New Year.
