Proof that others are much more into Halloween than I am.
In my defense, I updated my Twitter icon with a Halloween theme. Does that count?

I have no idea what kind of bird a California towhee is, but I really like this photo. Posted by my former boss and current retiree, Susan, it’s a nice shot with wonderful color context.
Wish I had photos like this.
After Dylan’s recent stay in the hospital, this week’s news that Staph infections kill more people than AIDS is scary.
U.S. deaths from staph surpass AIDS
Study shows majority of cases of drug-resistant infection originate in health settings
– Houston Chronicle
About 18,700 people die in this country each year from drug-resistant staph infections, according to a federal study released Tuesday — more deaths than the United States sees from AIDS annually. The study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, scheduled to be published in today’s edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association, is the first of its kind to track methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, known as MRSA.
Based on data from 2005, the agency estimated that about 94,400 patients nationwide suffer an invasive MRSA infection each year. And in the vast majority of cases, the infections originated in health care settings.

The once-rare, drug-resistant germ causes more than half of all skin infections treated in U.S. emergency rooms, the CDC reported last year. But until now, there was no solid data on the number of cases nationwide to serve as a benchmark.

My virtual friend Cybertoad posted this photo on her Flickr stream. It seems her HR staff covered their VP’s mustang in colorful post-its.
Proof I’m not creative enough. This is so funny and such a great idea. I need to try it on someone else sometime.
It’s official. Saul got his new orders and will be staying in Iraq at least another 7 months. We’re expecting it to be a year more.
My new friend, CyberToad, took this very nice shot. It’s at the Zoo metrorail stop in the Texas Medical Center. Very nice composition.
Kymberlie recently had her nails done for Halloween. Very cool effect. She tells me that they glow in the dark. Cute enough to make me want to grow mine out.

This is a great photo of a beautiful painting on display at the Harris County Public Library.
